Welcome. I am Sam. A freelance web developer with a passion for clean design...and green eggs and ham. Below you will find quick highlights of my work. Go on, visit the full portfolio, you'll like what you see.
Valvoline @ Critical MassDuring my year-long stint at Critical Mass as a web developer I primarily worked on the Ashland account which comprised mostly of their flagship company, Valvoline although I also did work on some of their other sites like Express Care and Eagle One. While working on this account, I had the chance to work as a frontend developer playing around with XSL transforms, interactiveness with jQuery, as well as do some backend work with the ASP/SQL stack.
Wii Friend Number (Facebook App)The Wii Friend Number Facebook application started off as a hobby as a means to learn my ways around building a PHP/MySQL web application. It was initially meant to share a 16 digit friend code needed in order for Nintendo Wii owners to play online. The amount of information needed to be shared grew and so did the application. This unexpected growth and traffic required scaling and soon the entire codebase was moved over to use the CodeIgniter PHP framework and the database was transferred over to Amazon's SimpleDB to take advantage of Amazon's sophisticated infrastructure.
CalMediI was approached by Amin of CalMedi & Surgical Supplies Inc. to create a website for his business. It was designed on the Joomla! content management system to be simple and friendly enough so that he could update it himself.
Caitlyn ImburgoYoung blogger Caitlyn Imburgo wanted to redesign her blog as a refresher to a new year of school — but was missing a key piece to her redesign; a header. Inspired by a photograph, I created the above which fit in perfectly to the rest of her design.
Pro PatriaThis illustration is a tattoo design I did as a commission piece for my friend in the Canadian military. "Every soldier has a tattoo of the maple leaf...but none of them look this f**kin' wicked."
goSammygoSammy is my weblog. A personal project of my own theme built from scratch, designed for the Wordpress blogging engine.
