About Me

Currently working as an iOS Developer & Designer at Mobility Quotient.

My bread & butter used to lie in designing and developing websites and webapps on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack, although I am experienced in working with Nginx as a server as well. jQuery would be my Javascript library of choice on a web project. I've worked with many CMSes but I'd have to say that Drupal and Wordpress are my two favourites.

Since 2007, I've also been developing projects outside of the web such as developing iPhone apps in Objective-C.

I started out as a designer due to my love for the arts but also found that I enjoyed programming as well. In the past, I've been fortunate enough to land a stint with Critical Mass where I learned plenty about the digital advertising and interactive services industry, and experienced what it was like to work for big brands like Valvoline and Mercedes-Benz. Thanks to the vast amount of knowledge I learnt through my experiences there, paired with the programming skills I gained learned in computer science courses at the University of Calgary, I managed to develop a Facebook application for Nintendo Wii owners which had a userbase of 10000+ users at its peak.

Since leaving Critical Mass, I've been worked with Mediumrare as a contractor on various projects, and had a little stint with WestJet as an iOS Developer, before landing at my current job as an iOS Developer & Designer at Mobility Quotient.

In my free time, I like to write about development and design at my blog: goSammy.
